Journalistic writing

All lessons begin with a detailed vocabulary list including definitions and additional helpful information. From there, the six activities begin requiring reading and writing skills to use the words in context. After continuous practice, your middle school linguist will learn a myriad of ways to use and recognize these words in their original form and variations. This will not only help further expand your student’s vocabulary but build their spelling and writing skills.

Bear used this workbook for several weeks in conjunction with his English From the Roots Up lessons. Each activity took him approximately ten minutes to complete and he only did one every other school day. He thought the Vocabulary Virtuoso: Mastering Middle School Vocabulary book by The Critical Thinking Co.™ was well organized and provided a variety of ways to use the words. I like that the pronunciation, alternative choices, definitions, and parts of speech are included with the word list. This book also has perforated pages which make them easy to remove before completing.
