Earlier this week, Princess was chatting with Kevin, and he asked, “Who’s the prettiest girl in the whole wide world?” She proudly responded, “ME AM!“ This moment left me completely amazed because, even in her toddler language, she could proudly express that she was loved. I enjoy watching her beam with confidence because her father finds her completely beautiful. Even when he disciplines her, Kevin always reminds her how valuable she is. It is such a blessing to watch her receive the same loving kindness I have over the years.

Moments like these are often revered because they are so precious and become core motherhood memories. Spiritually, one can also be reminded that the foundation of our confidence comes from a father. Your earthly father is there to love you completely and discipline you appropriately because you are beautiful to him. Children’s confidence is instilled by the consistency of a father’s powerful voice, guiding hand, and loving correction. My confidence was created, strengthened, and restored because I paired my father’s voice with scripture. Confirmation from God’s word solidified my confidence and every gift or talent within. I’m grateful for the foundation from my loving father, and I know I am beautiful to him.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV

I’d be remiss to overlook those who did not have the best (or any, depending on the circumstances) relationship with their father. Everyone has issues with their parents growing up and those deep wounds were strategic scars from Satan. However, maintain hope and claim victory that though your physical father may not be up to par, the Heavenly Father will never fail you! His love transcends time, space, and long before you were even created He proved it via salvation through a risen Savior. The Almighty God has always loved you perfectly. So always walk with confidence because you are beautiful to Him.

The three best gifts we have as Christians are God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We are beautiful because we were designed in the image of the creator of all things. God has parented us well before our own parents were created and that simply blows my mind! Most importantly he gifted precious yet powerful salvation through the birth, life, death, and resurrection of his son, Jesus Christ. Then, He gifted us the Holy Spirit to guide, speak truth to, and strengthen us to be salt and light to others. Even in correction, God’s love is shown because the word clearly states time and time again that discipline is love.
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? Hebrews 12:5-6, 9 KJV

Finally, I know that God believes that we are beautiful because of forgiveness, grace, and mercy. None of these things are deserved but the Lord freely gives them to us numerous times. Then, after we use those up, he comes in and grants forgiveness, grace, and mercy again. God is the perfect epitome of the definition of love. He is patient. He is kind. He is faithful. He is God.
Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day. Psalm 139:13-16 MSG

I could go on forever about how amazing he is! But instead, I will leave you with a reminder from the little girl in my home (and the little girl inside of me). Look up at your Father and smile sweetly because you are loved and beautiful.
