Review: Let’s Go Geography, Year 2

Disclaimer: I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.

Have you ever come across a fun, family-friendly learning experience that everyone enjoyed? Well, Lets Go Geography was that product for Bear and I back in 2017 so I was elated to revisit it this year. This go-round, we received two calendar years of access to Let’s Go Geography, Year 2 and I used it with my younger two children, Bam Bam, and Princess.

Product Details
Let’s Go Geography is a downloadable curriculum featuring lessons about various places all over the world. This program offers a virtual visit to over 100 countries, states, and provinces. The lessons are organized by two 16 lesson semesters over three years. Access to each year varies on the type of membership purchased. All lessons can be downloaded directly to your tablet, phone, or computer. You can even save them in online drives like Dropbox.

In Year 2 your children will learn about Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, France, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Japan, and Sri Lanka. Each lesson begins with some facts, a supply list, a suggested schedule, and an overview of what’s included in the document. Hyperlinks are available for most of the printables and all of the music and information videos. Games are also included that range from printable boards to physical activity. Each game allows your children to review what they’ve learned about the locations. Art and craft activities are also provided that showcase the culture and local specialties.

Our Learning System & Thoughts
This program was used in my home daily by my preschooler and 1st grader. To prepare, I looked through the options and decided on lessons that coincided with Bear’s 6th-grade geography course. After making my selections, I printed the materials necessary to complete the projects. Next, I scheduled our week to include 20 minutes to work through the provided links and activities each day.

I enjoyed the ease and flow of Let’s Go Geography, Year 2 lessons. I also like that you don’t have to log in daily because the lessons are downloaded. The ability to chose any starting point is also a plus! During our review period, we enjoyed learning about the Continents, US Pacific Northwest, Mexico, and a few more fun places. My children looked forward to our daily lessons and always asked to do more. I definitely recommend this program to families that appreciate complete lesson plans but still want creative flexibility.
