Today’s review features two perspectives of the Single Membership we received via CTCMath. This curriculum couldn’t have come at a better time for our household because we had completed our old program and were looking for something new. I wanted to be sure the new math included testing with the option for our children to move up or down in grade levels as I saw fit. CTCMath gave us just that! Usually, you read my thoughts on a program with a quote from Bear; however, this time, I will give you the information and Bear will provide a detailed review of his own.
CTCMath was birthed from the vision of a homeschooling father in Australia who wanted to provide a multi-sensory approach to educating children in mathematics. This online curriculum is geared towards students in Kindergarten through 8th grade with the option to use as a supplemental program in high school. Since Bear was the only student using this program, we chose the Individual Plan but there is a Family Plan for homes with multiple children. This program is designed to be used by schools districts, parents who want to help their children improve, and homeschoolers.
The Parent features on this program are amazing! You are given the ability to assign your student lessons, diagnostic tests, and even write a note to them when you assign the task. All provided diagnostic tests are available in short (20 questions), standard (30 questions) or comprehensive (40 questions). Each task created has the option to change the due date and the order in which your child needs to complete what is assigned. Upon completion, a PDF task progress report is emailed which includes your child’s results, whether it was completed on time, and how many times the task was attempted prior to completion. At the end of the week a comprehensive weekly report is emailed which provides an average for all task completed that week.
“I like that CTCMAth is online and that I could use my tablet to complete the activities. The lessons are put together well and with the diagnostic tests I was able to see if I knew all the information. I took a few comprehensive tests to review what we went over last year and I passed all of those. The diagnostic tests are not timed but I usually finished the comprehensive ones within thirty minutes. I’m in 4th grade but was able to move up to 5th and 6th grade for a few lessons once I passed the diagnostic tests for the previous grade levels. Speed Skills, Times Tables, and Swap Pieces were fun games to play.” Bear, 9 years old
“The website was easy to navigate by myself and I have my own log in information. I like how the videos are available for every lesson but if you already know the information, you can go straight to the lesson questions. On the screen they show your current score while you are answering questions. This pushed me to work harder and make sure my score stayed high. My mother set my passing score to 85% so I always knew whether or not I was passing the assigned tasks. Depending on the length of the video, lessons usually take five to fifteen minutes to complete. I’m glad we are going to continue using this program and I think I want to keep using it all the way through high school.” Bear 9 years old
Overall, CTCMath has provided our homeschool with a great online math curriculum that features everything we were looking for and more. As you can see, Bear and I both like all the features of the Single Membership but my FAVORITE FEATURE is that this program can be used on Android tablets and iPads which was great on car school days. Currently, homeschoolers are able to receive 60% off, PLUS 6 BONUS MONTHS on monthly and annual subscriptions for family and individual plans. You can also receive a FREE TRIAL of this program where you’ll be able to view the first lesson for every section within each grade level.

Make today wonderful,
