We created a volcano this year and wanted to share the fun with you. You can check out our eruption via this video.
To recreate our volcano you can use molding clay or make your own with basic kitchen items. We used Emily’s Fantastic No Cook Playdough recipe and left our volcano out to dry (harden) overnight.
Ingredients:
-2 cups of plain/all-purpose flour -1 cup salt
-1 cup cold water -1 tbspn oil (vegetable oil is fine – baby oil smells lovely)
Directions: Mix all ingredients, knead thoroughly, and store in zip lock bag.
After creating our volcano we erupted it using the baking soda, vinegar, food coloring, and dish soap method. We initially tried the Tissue Paper Method however, that didn’t work out. We kept our eruption simple and fun and the entire family had a blast conducting this experiment.
