Saw this photo from Veggie Tales and definitely had to share it with you all. I don’t know about you, but I find myself waiting for the manifestation of promises and/or the solutions to life’s daily problems to come. Waiting is inevitable but how we wait is where our maturity in Christ is displayed.
Years ago, my dear friend Barbara told me “a mature Christian can wait.” I’m forever reminded of her words when I feel like things aren’t happening when I want them to. These words also come to mind when I’m trying to rush through a test that God put in place to mature me. Each and every time I’ve been anxious and decided to take things into my own hands the end result was always disastrous and God had to come in and fix things that were not initially on his work order. Gratefully, I didn’t try to take over too many times and I’ve allowed God to maintain his position as all seeing, all knowing, wise, and true. Whenever I decide to stay patient and endure the test, the end results prove that God’s timing is perfect.
I once heard a preacher say that “life is like a parade, and God has the blimp view.” While we can only see the float that just passed and the one in front of us, God can see the entire parade at one time. Therefore, it is up to us to trust him and his decision-making even if that means that we have to wait. Remember, His blessings are worth the wait so let patience have her perfect work that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (James 1:4 KJV)
