We received a physical copy of this book but it is also available as an e-book.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Critical Thinking Co.™ has mastered combining creative problem solving with various school subjects. Their products teach children the process of creating a solution. Creative Problem Solving Level 1 shows children in preschool through 2nd Grade that their imagination is a powerful agent that can help them design extraordinary things. This book has also won the 2019 Tillywig Brain Child Award.
This paperback book provides educators with over 200 pages of engaging challenges for students to practice problem-solving. The book is broken down into 11 sections, each featuring a different type of puzzle and solution. The puzzles vary in levels of difficulty and some include writing options. The puzzles cover drawing pictures, survival skills, inventions, enigmas, and much more. The last two sections are considered ‘Super Challenges’ and include adjusting multidimensional figures or machines.

OUR ROUTINE & FINAL THOUGHTS We worked through a few pages from each section of this workbook. The exercises were thought-provoking for my 1st Grader and challenging for my preschooler. Since the difficulty varies, my younger child was not able to try all the challenges. However, my 1st Grader did complete each type of puzzle. The exercises took approximately 15 to 20 minutes to explain, complete, and discuss.

I found that these puzzles were engaging and provided a necessary challenge during our learning time. It was interesting to see my children use their creativity to solve the problems. I was extremely happy that the text encourages there are no right or wrong answers. This allows your child to freely evaluate and clearly explain their workable solution. Finally, I liked that the pages are perforated which makes them easy to remove and work on.

We have many items by The Critical Thinking Co.™ and I have seen how their products help develop students’ critical thinking skills. The current 2020 Pandemic has proven that these skills are extremely necessary. We’ve seen companies and churches have to immediately adjust their platform. These adjustments required imagination, problem-solving, and concise explanations all of which can begin being taught in preschool via Critical Problem Solving Level 1. Remember, it is never too early for your children to start learning, practicing, and applying skills that empower the mind and offer future job security.
