Makeup May! Sweet Spring FOTD

Happy Makeup May and welcome to my first Makeup Monday!

Over the years I have tried my best to sprinkle in some of my favorite beauty items and reviews. Now, I think it is time for much more makeup! To start off Makeup May I wanted to share a recent face of the day (FOTD).

This look is my go to, Liner, Lashes, & Lips from my mommy makeup series. The entire looks usually takes me 5-10 minutes at most, depending on whether I define my brows and add lashes. The whole process includes primer, foundation or bb cream, and setting my face with powder. If I have an extra two minutes I might highlight with concealer and bake while doing the next step.

For the liner portion of this look, I combined Wet N Wild blue liquid and black glitter fantasy maker liner. I applied the blue liner first and immediately added the glitter eyeliner to it. This gave me the dark navy line with a hint of sparkle. The fantasy maker items are only sold during October but they do sell another black glitter eyeliner all year.

Usually, the lashes only include mascara but I occasionally add falsies for flare. Today was definitely a flare day! Currently, my favorite lashes are the Wispy style by Broadway. These lashes add flare and I love how they aren’t perfect like natural lashes. These add great length, are very inexpensive, and extremely lightweight.

On my cheeks, I did add so glow with a few swipes of highlight and blush. Today’s blush is a mix of the darker colors in the BH Cosmetics Professional Blush – 10 Color Blush Palette. I always tap into several colors when using this palette. I used the Wet N Wild Mega Glo Loose Highlighting Powder to brighten up my T-zone.

Finally, on my lips, I’m wearing LA Colors Oh So Shiny lip color in the shade Radiant. I picked up the entire set of these lippies from eBay. I love that they are shiny because I was a bit over the matte phase. These lipsticks add sheen and glow to your perfect pout.

To see how I throw together a similar Liner, Lashes, and Lips look watch my recent video.

Hope you enjoyed this look!

  1. I have a quick makeup question. How do you keep your skin looking nice and protected under the makeup? I see so many women where their face just looks washed out after taking off the makeup. It almost looks like their skin has lost some of its pigment. I really want to get into putting on makeup more but I am so afraid of damaging my skin.

    1. Drinking plenty of water and cleaning my face is my routine. I found a natural cleanser, use witch hazel as a toner, and apply a natural moisturizer afterwards. I also use a primer on my skin prior to applying makeup. The primer acts as a barrier between your skin and the makeup.
