There is nothing like the presence of a strong, righteous, Christian father. I mean it. No matter where you are, you can always tell when a great father is present. You can see it by his children’s behavior, attitude, and life choices. You can also spot an impressive father by the way his spouse, peers, and family treat him. I am always happy to see a wonderful father because I know that great Godly fathers rear superb children, who subsequently raise outstanding children, and so on.
Now of course, there is the opposite end of the fatherhood spectrum featuring the infamous, as seen on TV “deadbeat dad” that no one respects (respeks) or likes to claim. Please believe if this type of father is super wack or jive in ANY WAY, someone will let him and the world know quick, fast, and in a hurry. Most likely, during the weeks prior to and even on Father’s Day, one might see more social media posts about dads that fall into this category than posts for the spectacular fathers out there. Life happens to all of us, but I’m always saddened by those who spend precious time venting anger over their own father or children’s father publicly. I’m sure those moments would be better spent in prayer, asking God to heal that relationship, cover the children involved, and help everyone forgive and move forward. Trust me; God is able to do all of that and more.
The ultimate example of fatherhood can be found in our Heavenly Father, The Most High God, by the way he loves, cares for, and provides for us. From the beginning of time he set forth a plan for our homes, and when done right, PHENOMENAL things happen. When a father takes his place in the child’s life he provides them with stability mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and even physically. My father taught me how to fight and be confident, always told me I was beautiful, and made his presence known even though we lived in different cities. Out of everything my father taught me, my favorite was that he always encouraged me to get married and stay married. Because of his character, I was able to know what attributes to look for in a husband and ended up being chosen by an excellent man named Kevin.
I could go on and on and on about the importance of a father’s presence, his words, and his example but that’s what the video is for. Check out my tribute to my father to hear my favorite memories with him, why I am proud to be his FAVORITE daughter, and some encouragement for single mothers.
I’d also like to say Happy Father’s Day to the awesome fathers I have in my life. My father, Urmit G., my husband, Kevin K., my father-in-love Vernon K., my bonus-father Calvin Thompson, my grandfather Robert D., and my grandfather-in-love Jasper C. Sr. I LOVE YOU ALL!! Love your father while you have time. If you don’t have a relationship with him and he is still alive, ask God to help you forgive him and create one. If your father died before you were able to have a relationship with him, God can give you peace and fill that void. As I already stated, he is able to do all of this and much more.
Make this day powerful,
