Must Have Winter Concealer (Oldies but goodies)

Initially, I had a serious vendetta against the Ruby Kisses 3D Face Creator. I hated that this amazing product worked for so many people but I couldn’t get it to work for my skin. After a myriad of concealer and highlighting fails I threw it into “the pile” .

You know, what “the pile” is. The place where you put wack makeup. Think of it as The Isle of Misfit Toys, but for makeup.

2015/01/img_1735.jpg

Well, during my 2013 winter makeup purge I came across “the pile” and pulled out the Ruby Kisses 3D Face Creator. I tried it and noticed that it didn’t melt off my face or become a slimy mess like the late Spring and Summer results. This time, it stayed put. I did have a rough time blending it to my liking, but I kept trying. Once I added the e.l.f Makeup Mist & Set and e.l.f. small stippling brush I knew I had a winning combination.

Now, I love the Ruby Kisses 3D Face Creator and hope you give it a try. In fact reach into “the pile” and pull out a product that gave you the blues in the Summer time. Who knows, the cold weather may make that item a fantastic seasonal favorite.

For additional information on these winter concealers and to see how I apply them, check out the video below.

I’m EQUIPPED to succeed!

2015/01/img_1167.jpg

Yesterday was a bad homeschool day. It was one of the worst homeschool days we have had in a while. It started off okay, but as soon as we got to our new unit of creative writing, I could see my son was not interested. That’s when the war started.

As soon as I start explaining the new unit and showing my excitement, I could see him shutting down. He immediately showed he wasn’t interested in writing that day and slowly started the assignment. A planned fifteen minute exercise took us nearly an hour to complete. I couldn’t believe it. I explained to him that he was more than equipped to do the work because I had taught him in the previous lessons. He still didn’t want to do it. He thought it was going to be hard. His mind was made up and nothing I said could change it.

2015/01/img_1157.jpg

This truly inspired me because it reminds me of my relationship with God. He is constantly showing me the direction that he wants me to go in and it terrifies me. I am 100% uncomfortable with every glimpse of my future that I’ve seen. I love it when he shows me things that my husband and children are going to do. I seriously get overjoyed and excited. But, when he begins to display his plan for me via visions, dreams, or confirmed prophecies I just feel…

I just feel scared. I feel unprepared. I feel unworthy. I seriously don’t want to mess it up. I just think that since I’m comfortable where I am that I should be able to stay there. But we all know that a stagnant life is not beneficial to anyone.

Back to the story…
Eventually my son started to do the work, understood most of the work, asked questions about the new material, and finally completed the assignment. Yes, he was forced, supported, and encouraged to push through it because I REFUSED TO LET HIM GIVE UP.  He complained but soon realized that though the new work was hard, I had prepared him for it via our previous lessons. He was equipped for success.

2015/01/img_1725.jpg

Back to the lesson/life application…
I realize that God is saying the same thing to me right now. “Yes, it is new. Yes, it’s hard. BUT I’VE EQUIPPED YOU FOR THE WORK.”

I am terrified. I will honestly admit that my life in Christ has been nothing short of spectacular and amazing. I don’t know where I would be if I hadn’t followed every step that he laid out for me to the best of my ability. When I am obedient to him, I am blessed beyond measure. Why would I give that up?

I think yesterday’s horrible homeschool day was what I needed for encouragement. I’m strengthened to run on and see what the end will be. I’ve been prepared for the next “big thing” by The Most High. I AM EQUIPPED TO SUCCEED!

Make this week successful,

EBATES WORKS!

I must admit that when I initially heard of this company I did not believe a word that the person said. But after hearing about it for over a year and seeing a couple of posts, I decided to go ahead and sign up via my friend’s referral link.

EBATES is a consumer referral program where a percentage of your completed transaction amount is returned to you. Most amounts vary from 1% to 4%; however, there are days where some companies offer 6%-8% return.

Holiday Goodies

Happy Holidays!

I hope this blog post finds you having a super fantastic day, surrounded by the ones you love, and making special memories. Christmas is here!!! I’m so happy that Christmas is here. I’ve been jammin’ my Soulful Christmas (old school, Motown, etc) and Merry Christmas (gospel and Christian) playlists on Spotify since the end of October. Now I’m elated that I can turn the volume up.

This holiday season has been grand thus far. During November, we thankfully celebrated 7 years of marriage, a few family birthdays, and Thanksgiving. During December we travel a lot and I look forward to hugging all my family. This year we will have our first Christmas tree and next week kdk and I will be making Ninja Turtle ornaments for it. <— How cool is that?!?!

IMG_1593.JPG

I hope your Holiday season is a memorable one. Here’s a quick Christmas video to get your jolly juice flowing.

Missed the toast? Don’t worry, grab a mug of hot chocolate, and let’s toast to a grand year’s end and beginning.

“Here’s to a fantastic holiday season!
Create incredible memories.
Love on your family.
Make amends.
Forgive.
Bloom where you are planted.
Move forward victoriously.
Finish 2014 Strong!!”

While There Is Still Time To Say “Thank You”…

IMG_1582.JPG

While there is still time to say “thank you,” I want to appreciate my Lord and Savior for the gift of salvation and the daily blessings that I don’t deserve. I’m so grateful for the miracles, love, and peace that only you can provide. I’m in awe of you, Most High, Counselor, Creator of all, Great King, the Only Wise and True.

While there is still time to say “thank you,” I tell husband that I couldn’t do any of this without him leading me. Kevin your strength and patience with me deserves an award. Seriously. I must concur with my father’s words of “she’s a handful” but most days I’m two or three handfuls. You provide for us. You cover us. You teach us the word. You are the best pastor, provider, and protector.

While there is still time to say “thank you,” I remind my children daily that they are the best “arrows” a mom could hope for. My oldest is a great kid. Most days I’m trying to figure out how he turned out so awesome but I know God did 99% of it. Since he got the first child on the right path then I know #2 will be a great kid too. I’m grateful for how they interact with one another. I also enjoy seeing their personalities and talents come alive while teaching them in school.

IMG_1581.PNG

I could go on for a million more mentions but you get the gist of it. In the passing months I’ve had friends lose spouses, children, family members, and even pets. Any loss is tragic. No matter the age or relationship, I’m always reaching out to those that have lost what was near and dear to them.

I’m not trying to turn this post into a morbid rant but while there is time to say “thank you,” SAY IT! Don’t let this Thanksgiving be a time where you only appreciate those you see often. Make time to call, text, email, or write a letter to those you haven’t spoken to in years. Use this time to forgive, reach out, reconnect, and move forward. As any grandmother would say, “give people their flowers while they yet live.”

IMG_1580.JPG

So, let Thanksgiving 2014 be your official THANKS GIVING DAY! Appreciate those all around you for everything they do.

Here are a few of my “Thank You” gifts…

Hey librarian, thank you for recommending great books to go with our homeschool themes.

Hello donut shop worker, my son always appreciates the extra chocolate glazed donut holes you give us, in addition to the complimentary ones. Thank you!

Pizza buffet worker, I appreciate how you put my special order in as soon as my family walks through the door, before we pay. You’re so attentive and we thank you.

Pastor, your sermons seem tailor made for what we are dealing with. Thank you for being used freely by God.

You, great blog friend that read this post until the end, YOU’RE AWESOME! Thank you for supporting my hobby. I hope you have a grand Thanksgiving and phenomenal holiday season.

Make this week pleasant,
~Ta’Neisha K.~

14 Reasons Why I Love My Husband

Today we celebrated 7 GLORIOUS YEARS OF MARRIAGE!!!

IMG_1552.JPG

Two weeks ago I started posting reasons why I love my husband on social networking sites. Initially I did it because I just love my husband; however, I found that as I continued to post, my heart became filled with joy. It was like I fell in love with him all over again. Below you will find every post that I’ve made over the past two weeks. I am going to keep this going 21 days.

I also take this time to implore each and every wife to not only privately acknowledge but publicly recognize the love that you have for your husband. Let everyone know how much you appreciate having him around via social networks, blogs, and public displays of affection. Speak well of him to family, friends, and most importantly to your children. Make the time to let your husband know that you love him, need him, and want him around. Continue this daily for at least 21 days because it takes that long to form a habit. Let’s work hard to make our marriages last and be enjoyable. Wives, let’s make it our mission to love and like our husbands.

In addition to this 21 day challenge, set aside prayer time for your marriage and the marriages of your children. You can also pray for marriages of your friends, family, church members, etc.

Make your marriage blissful,
~Ta’Neisha K.~

Great Things of 2014 (3rd Quarter)

This third quarter of 2014 has been tremendous and awesome! I am so grateful for the many accomplishments and family memories I experienced. I’m excited to share them all with you so, let’s get started.

We kicked off our third quarter with a relaxing summer vacation. We just vegged, got ice cream wasted, slept in, and swam often. Since I live in a house full of a Kings, we also had several impromptu family Nerf gun battles. We concluded summer with two family vacations during which we visited our grandfathers. In August we started our first grade journey and our theme is EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

In September I decided it was time for some super deep cleaning so I began a household purge. We donated many items, cleaned out every natural room, closet, and drawer. To my surprise, a natural deep cleaning will help you clean house spiritually as well. I won’t go into too much detail, of course there is a video or blog coming, but the energy in my home is amazing now thanks to a declutter session.

I also started a great Bible Study on the book of Esther via Love God Greatly. I can’t begin to describe how much I’ve grown. This was my first time studying Esther as a married woman and I truly related to her. Humility and strength is what I took away from the study. My favorite scripture from the study was A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭25‬:‭11‬ ESV)

IMG_1512.JPG

Guess what else I did? I REACHED MY ONE HUNDRED POUND WEIGHT LOSS GOAL!!! During this time I finally started and completed a squat challenge. I have to admit that these squats will “get you right” and have you “bootylicious.” <– Do people still say that? Probably not. Either way, I strongly suggest that everyone complete a squat challenge before the end of this year. It works!!!

IMG_1290.JPG

Last but certainly not least, I have to include the great time that I had at my church. We finished out the last quarter with a women’s fellowship week and it was truly amazing. We did so much during this week including shooting at a gun range, community service event, luncheon, and an Amazing Race. Of course there was a little bit of friendly competition, which I’m proud to say that my team, AMAZING GRACE won with flying colors! If you would like to see the great time we had then click on the video below.

As you have read, this third quarter has been wonderful and I look forward to making more phenomenal memories and accomplishing even greater things to end 2014.

Check this message for my end-of-the-year encouragement

Remember that games are won and lost in the fourth quarter.

Are you prepared to FINISH STRONG?

Make this fourth quarter awe-inspiring,
